We’re thrilled to share some exciting news – our work on the National Library of Australia website has been shortlisted in three categories at the 2025 Australian Web Awards! 🎉

Finalist in:

  • 🏛 Government
  • 🌏 Community & Culture
  • 🛠 Tech: Drupal

This recognition means so much to our team and reflects the collaborative effort that went into delivering a modern, accessible, and scalable digital platform for one of Australia’s most iconic institutions.

A huge shout out to Cathie Oats, the incredible Project Sponsor at the National Library, whose vision and leadership made this project possible. We also want to acknowledge the fantastic initial discovery work by Folk, who led the information architecture and user research prior to our UX, UI and development of the website – their groundwork set a solid foundation for what came next.

To the Digital Garden team – thank you for your hard work, creativity and dedication through every stage of the project lifecycle.

From creating a flexible Drupal 10 solution, to designing a robust design system that works in both light and dark mode, to integrating key services like the Catalogue, Trove, and the NLA Bookshop – this project has been a true labour of love.

The Australian Web Awards celebrate the best digital work produced in Australia over the past year. This year marks their 20th anniversary, and winners will be announced at a special event at Q Events in Melbourne this May.

We’re honoured to be among such incredible digital talent from across the country. Fingers crossed!
