A new accessible website for Glaucoma Australia, with re-imagined user journeys, that provides education, support and hope for 300,000 Australians.
Glaucoma Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to eliminate glaucoma blindness in Australia by detecting and treating the disease early. Their website is a source of hope, information and support for people in Australia that are affected by this life-changing disease.
Digital Garden was engaged by Glaucoma Australia to redesign its ageing and content-rich site into a user journey-driven experience.
A condensed navigation promotes key tasks and supports making the Glaucoma journey a less daunting experience for users. Each top-level menu item acts as a hub for users who can identify with the stage and find relevant support and information.
Accessibility is extremely important for a website of this nature.. Digital Garden took great care to ensure the design was AA compliant and suited to those who may have imparied vision. This meant colour contrast and font size was carefully considered to be easily readable.
The website also features the Monsido PageAssist accessibility option to cater toward users with a disability. Monsido has numerous options including adjusting font size, text spacing, contrast and media control.
Integrations have been implemented across the site to handle various functionalities:
SecurePay - SecurePay is used to handle online payments on the donation and ecommerce parts of the site, allowing for seamless and highly secure transactions.
ThankQ CRM - Integrated to collect data from multiple forms for ease of use data management.
People who are diagnosed with or are living with Glaucoma may feel a sense of isolation.
Working with Glaucoma Australia, Digital Garden identified a need to foster stronger ties with the community. The site features a support network for users to get reassurance and connect with others with Glaucoma. These community stories are featured on the homepage and throughout the site, as a reminder that people with Glaucoma are not alone.
